CAMP ELIGIBILITY
In-person Camp Eligibility
The 2024 in-person camp will take place from March 27 to April 2, 2024 in Menorca, Spain. It will be followed by the third edition of the Menorca International Chess Open.
Selection for camp, determined by the end of February, will be based on criteria, with class attendance being the foremost consideration.
FIDE Trainers’ Commission and Chessable will select 12 students according to the following criteria.
- Class attendance percentage will be the foremost consideration. To be considered for the camp, a student should have attended a minimum of 75% of the online lectures.
- A FIDE standard rating above 2000
- Must understand English for chess training purposes
- Must NOT have attended previous FIDE Chessable in-person camps
- Must be 16 years of age or younger
- Selected by FIDE Trainers’ Commission as wild card (1)
- Selected by Chessable as wild card (1)
- The organizing committee will make every effort to ensure an equal representation of boys and girls in the camp.
Upon notification, camp participants should confirm their availability in 24 hours. Failure to do so will result in selecting the next student in line. Camp participants must travel with a parent or guardian. FIDE will cover the travel expenses, provide accommodations (double room with parents), and include meals for the 12 students participating in the camp. However, FIDE will NOT cover the travel expenses or meals for parents or guardians. Participants of any language and rating who fulfill the attendance criteria (minimum 75% attendance) and were not selected to the camp, will receive Chessable courses.
